#3 is gonna work - Don McDowell - 11-10-2013 and work well.Got the #3 back from the rebarrel done by Kirk, and his new 44-77 reamer with the 7* lead. Here's the 1st 15 shots from it, 100 yds ladder sight, short tank buster bullet wrapped in 8# seth cole, 75 grs Olde Eynsford 2f muzzleloader original dry lubed felt wad, napa rubber wad. Also had in the mix some of the Accurate 400t slicks that Mike had sent me, they went right on top of the group others. I think this thing is gonna work and hopefully Doc and I will take our sharps and do some elk tippin here in the near future. ![]()

One of these days I'm gonna figure out how to load so's I can cut square holes in steel targets!!! RE: #3 is gonna work - Tombstone 71 - 11-10-2013 Nice Don, Looks like that chamber is gona work great Tim RE: #3 is gonna work - Don McDowell - 11-10-2013 Sam those were the BACO cases. Which for those that may be interested, the lee 45-70 case trimmer shell holder and lock stud combined with the Lee 444 marlin trimmer and case length guage work great for the reformed 44 cases.. Now just need to figure out what shellholder and lock stud that will work for the Jamison brass. Thanks Tim RE: #3 is gonna work - Kurt - 11-10-2013 Don, Looks like it will shoot! The RCBS #31 or the Lee #17 shell holder will work with that brass. Kurt RE: #3 is gonna work - Don McDowell - 11-11-2013 Those tankbusters sure pock mark that steel, but not near as bad as Doc's 50. RE: #3 is gonna work - Caprock - 11-11-2013 I kinda like the neat square holes they punch!

RE: #3 is gonna work - Barvid - 12-03-2013 Nice start Don, you sure have gotten bit hard by the 44 bug. They must be a blast. Best, Barvid RE: #3 is gonna work - Don McDowell - 12-03-2013 Thanks Barvid, the 44-77 chambering is just a hoot to shoot, mild recoil, excellent accuracy, and historical cool factor oozing out all over the place, what more could a feller want in a rifle.
