MVA mid range purchased from Shiloh
with the eyepiece locked tight as should be, are you supposed to be able to adjust the "vertical height" with the eyepiece tight?
the reason I ask this is that I have always loosened the eyepiece before making any vertical adjustments and today was the first time that I even knew that it would move with the eyepiece properly tightened

No you really shouldn't be able to move that sight with the eyecup tightened down. Are you sure it moved or did you just get the set nut loosened?

You still have that black plastic washer on the back of the eyecup?
That's the 'brake'.

it depends on the sight , if it has windage screw on the bottom of the eyecup it only has to be loosened up for windage.

I will photo the rear sight and scan the invoice so that everything will be clear, I am kinda boozed up at the moment and its raining so I will have something to do tomorrow, thanks in advance

I just looked and there is no "black plastic washer", I never knew that it was there, must have lost it when I took off original eyepiece and replaced with Hadley[sp]
I guess a homemade one will work?????

Please confirm your MVA tang sight is a Soule type.
Just call MVA and they will send you a couple of plastic washers.
In the mean time, you can use a #10 brass washer.
Is the Sun to loud this a.m?

yes its a MVA Soule, thanks for the tip on the washer
head is ok this morning, slept till about 8 instead of the usual 5:30 thingy, lol
cloudy and raining here, 2-4 inches predicted, we are about 8 inches above the normal for West Tennessee, area farmers are having a real hard time getting crops planted

Go and find the other eyecup, see if the washer is on it.
Also, check the red bag the Hadley came in.
