rear sight question - chaneylake - 05-02-2013 MVA mid range purchased from Shiloh with the eyepiece locked tight as should be, are you supposed to be able to adjust the "vertical height" with the eyepiece tight? the reason I ask this is that I have always loosened the eyepiece before making any vertical adjustments and today was the first time that I even knew that it would move with the eyepiece properly tightened RE: rear sight question - Don McDowell - 05-02-2013 No you really shouldn't be able to move that sight with the eyecup tightened down. Are you sure it moved or did you just get the set nut loosened? RE: rear sight question - Lumpy Grits - 05-02-2013 You still have that black plastic washer on the back of the eyecup? That's the 'brake'. Gary RE: rear sight question - powderburner - 05-02-2013 it depends on the sight , if it has windage screw on the bottom of the eyecup it only has to be loosened up for windage. RE: rear sight question - Lumpy Grits - 05-02-2013 Yup Dean, I did ASSume it was a Soule ... ![]() Gary RE: rear sight question - chaneylake - 05-02-2013 I will photo the rear sight and scan the invoice so that everything will be clear, I am kinda boozed up at the moment and its raining so I will have something to do tomorrow, thanks in advance RE: rear sight question - chaneylake - 05-03-2013 (05-02-2013, 06:39 PM)Lumpy Grits Wrote: You still have that black plastic washer on the back of the eyecup? I just looked and there is no "black plastic washer", I never knew that it was there, must have lost it when I took off original eyepiece and replaced with Hadley[sp] I guess a homemade one will work????? RE: rear sight question - Lumpy Grits - 05-03-2013 Please confirm your MVA tang sight is a Soule type. ![]() Just call MVA and they will send you a couple of plastic washers. In the mean time, you can use a #10 brass washer. Is the Sun to loud this a.m? ![]() Gary RE: rear sight question - chaneylake - 05-03-2013 (05-03-2013, 10:52 AM)Lumpy Grits Wrote: Please confirm your MVA tang sight is a Soule type. yes its a MVA Soule, thanks for the tip on the washer head is ok this morning, slept till about 8 instead of the usual 5:30 thingy, lol cloudy and raining here, 2-4 inches predicted, we are about 8 inches above the normal for West Tennessee, area farmers are having a real hard time getting crops planted RE: rear sight question - Lumpy Grits - 05-03-2013 Go and find the other eyecup, see if the washer is on it. Also, check the red bag the Hadley came in. Gary |
