Shooting Duplex Loads With DDPP Bullets - Pilgrim - 08-11-2022 Do you find it necessary to wipe the bore when shooting duplex loads with DDPP elliptical bullets? To be specific, the load I am trying is 6.5 grains of Reloader 7 and 70.5 grains of Swiss 1 1/2 with a paper patched BACO Jim 453546E bullet cast with the formula of 17:1 lead and lead free solder. RE: Shooting Duplex Loads With DDPP Bullets - Hiwall55 - 08-11-2022 I've got a friend that shoots duplex in a PP load, he does not wipe.YMMV tho! RE: Shooting Duplex Loads With DDPP Bullets - beltfed - 08-11-2022 Bill, Curous , does your "non-wiping" friend shoot the duplex PP load in BPTR or BPCRScompetition? or does he "blow" sometimes., etc? Arnie RE: Shooting Duplex Loads With DDPP Bullets - JKR - 08-12-2022 I’ve never shot a single duplex load but I’d say that where black powder is involved it’s best to wipe. I have shot a lot of smokeless loads in a 38-55 using a groove sized PP bullet. No wiping necessary there of course. JKR RE: Shooting Duplex Loads With DDPP Bullets - Hiwall55 - 08-12-2022 Arnie, he mostly shoots in gong matches, I saw him shoot them this year at Milan Buffalo shoot and he goes out to Alliance also. This Buffalo match is 11 shots in 5 minutes, I got 4th with a 1874 45-70 shoot duplex, they count, time, hits, knock down and misses, ties go to the clock. I beat my buddy by 4 seconds. |
