You say a 1 hole - Kurt - 01-17-2013 ragget group Frizzed my fingers off this morning forming the last 100 .44-100 cases so they extract with out using a cleaning rod. Well here is a 101 shot one hole ragget group shot at 200 yards , well almost a one hole I had fun this morning just putting a target for something to aim at working with this brass and managed to shoot all 101 rounds with out a problem except for getting cold fingers. I shoot all those rounds just using a blow tube and never cleaned the barrel with out having a fouling problem. When I got all done I walked down range to get the target and stand I looked at that ragget 3" hole and had to chuckle a little and saying to the other guy that was there, I dont know why I get so annal loading these rounds when this rifle will shoot this good using 100 rounds loaded with 80 grains +- maybe 2 grains of 1, 1.5, 2FG odd & end partial cans of KIK, Goex, Diamond and fireworks powder just to fill the case using the powder drop and bullets that were mixed from 405 grain to 507 grains shot in no special order and still hold 1 1/2 MOA at 200 yards. Do we get to fussy loading these black powder rifles ![]() Kurt

RE: You say a 1 hole - Kurt - 01-17-2013 You know; looking at that group with that little vertical using bullets that vary 100 grain in weight to stay in that 3" vertical, shot from that long 35" barrel that muzzle jump from that 22 pound rifle must be at a minimum. That rifle slides straight back and the barrel stays on the rest with out a jump. RE: You say a 1 hole - Don McDowell - 01-17-2013 Can't wait to get the chance to fatfinger the trigger on that thing. RE: You say a 1 hole - Kurt - 01-17-2013 Well I will see in a few days what it will do at long range Don. I pulled the scope off yesterday because I had to cam some of the cases into the chamber and drive them back out yesterday when I shot then the second time. Today I only had 11 that stuck out of the 101. Even with the uneven case volume from not all being blown to the chamber dimensions it is shooting quite well. Kurt RE: You say a 1 hole - Don McDowell - 01-17-2013 That thing is going to hold up fine at longer distance I'm a thinking RE: You say a 1 hole - Rick Mulhern - 01-18-2013 (01-17-2013, 05:04 PM)Kurt Wrote: Hell Kurt...I can't count but 9 fliers!! Damn good for a finger, whacker freezin morning shoot!! ![]() ![]() RE: You say a 1 hole - Kurt - 01-18-2013 Rick. I didn't even set up a scope and the target was really to small for 200 yds for me to see good. I just wanted to form the brass so it didn't stick in the chamber anymore during extracting. The wind was cold at about 15 mph or so blowing on the back of my neck so I didn't want to spend anymore time out there then I had to so I shot fast with two or three blows on the tube and I was out of there in a little over two hours. I will head for warmer weather in two or three days and shoot some long range. Kurt RE: You say a 1 hole - bobw - 01-18-2013 Well done Kurt well done. bobw |
