In the mailbox - Don McDowell - 06-12-2020

today was the pay up or we'll come pull up your flowers and kick your dog letter Big Grin from Shiloh on the #1 44-77 I ordered last Sept.
The calendar will turn slowly now.Wink

Don,

"The calendar will turn slowly now."

That's an understatement! I have only just begun to understand the concept of "Montana Time"! I just wonder which of us will have our rifle in hand first, you or me? Mine is in the "shouldn't be long" phase for about a month now. Does anybody know what phase comes next or how long the "shouldn't be long" phase typically is?

Since my phone still ain't ringing I must assume it still ain't Shiloh! Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

RE: In the mailbox - Eric Johanen - 06-13-2020

Good news Don! I'm still waiting on my 77 order. Was placed 5 years ago and my letter for payment arrived just after the new year. Don't want to bug Kirk but I will call for a update this week. Getting very antsy and need this rifle!!

RE: In the mailbox - Don McDowell - 06-13-2020

Eric my 77 should be coming any time now. It was on Kirk's bench last week for final assembly.

RE: In the mailbox - Eric Johanen - 06-13-2020

I do hope so It has ben a very long wait

RE: In the mailbox - Don McDowell - 06-13-2020

With the plane wreck, EPA coming in and shutting down the bluing operations, covid shutdown etc, things have fallen a bit behind. They are doing their best to get caught up, but Kirk's back is still giving him fits and he can't spend as much time as he would normally in the shop.
Shiloh's are pretty much hand crafted, and the 77's are even more so. When they introduced those they had most of the parts to build 750, they had a lot more orders than that come in, so those are going to be a bit longer wait time.

Don,

When did the EPA shut down their bluing? That one I hadn't heard. They must have gotten that straighten out since they are shipping rifles now?

I thank God every day that I'm retired and no longer in business. After 40 years of dealing with all the problems now I enjoy just worrying about what I feel like doing each day. Life is moving at a much slower pace for me now and I like it. I'd like it a lot better if I had my rifle back from Shiloh, but it's still good.

I had been hoping for a birthday delivery or at least a phone call, but that has come and gone now. Now I'm hoping to hear some good news by the 4th. This IS NOT a good year for good news on much of anything. Huh

Here it is the end of June and I'm just starting to loosely put together a match schedule with some of the dates far from a sure thing. A sad state of affairs indeed! Sad

I've been wondering, does anyone know how many rifles on average Shiloh produce a year? Or where they are serial number wise? My rifle that they have right now was built the first year Kirk was at Shiloh, 1991.
