Bill Goodman - pacecars - 07-19-2019

After looking at this one on Bill Goodman’s site over and over I finally gave in and called him and grabbed it. It is a C Sharps Arms .45-70 with some beautiful wood and my favorite half round barrel and at an excellent price. It will soon be on the way to me. I really need to delete his website and get him off of speed dial! I have always been a diehard Shiloh Sharps guy and this is my first CSA and so far it looks like a good one

Paper Patch mostly but I will also do some of rdnck’s loads he turned me onto a long time ago using the Lyman grease groove bullets. This one should be a nice lightweight hunting gun (at least light in the Sharps world)

You bet, sounds good pacecars, a sub 12lb Sharps does indeed make a fine hunting/carrying rifle, both of the ones I must have carried 100 miles in Africa are under 12 lbs, that said, i'll give that 16lb 45-110 another chance to kick my tail in this falls hunting woods ; ]

I had to sell the .44-77 shortly after I got it when I needed some quick cash. Hated to do it but it was over 13 lbs and since I am not a target shooter and use them to hunt here in Florida it was the most expendable. This one makes me feel better now

10-4 pacecars I hope you find one someday, with a favorable wind, i'll sneak in a pop a doe come 12 October with that old rifle, it's shooting really well with a 500gr paper patch bullet.

I called them C Sharps Arms today to see what they could tell me about it and found out it was one of John Schoffstall's personal guns that he had made up with the extras.
