THANK YOU Mike, for all the time and burnt brain cells that goes into bringing us this edition ![]() Gary RE: THE AMERICAN SHARPS SHOOTERS, 2017-4 - Mike - 11-21-2017 Thanks for the compliment, Lumpy. My brain seems to turn to ash right after an edition is finished and sent... That's how it relaxes... Shoot sharp's the word, Mike RE: THE AMERICAN SHARPS SHOOTERS, 2017-4 - Rowdy Rick - 11-22-2017 (11-21-2017, 01:24 PM)Mike Wrote: Courtesy of C. Rick RE: THE AMERICAN SHARPS SHOOTERS, 2017-4 - Mike - 11-23-2017 Rick, Thank you, Sir!! That picture was a spur of the moment shot, the weather looked good so I took advantage of it. Shoot sharp, Mike RE: THE AMERICAN SHARPS SHOOTERS, 2017-4 - Kurt - 11-24-2017 Mike, Rick. Again a very finem job for this issue of the American Sharps Shooter, The whole issue!! Mike I see you and I will have to spend time exchanging notes on the .44's, be it at the Q or around a campfire where ever it might be burning. I have 5 .44's bottle necked and straight walled cases and if had a choice of two rifles to pick from no matter what the other calibers are my hand would reach for the .44. I know I have mentioned many times that this is my last rifle I will have build, but there is always another .44 I yearn for. Some day I might call CSA and tell them I still have the .44-77 or the .44-75 Ballard reamer that needs a rifle to be build around them. You guys keep up the good work. Kurt RE: THE AMERICAN SHARPS SHOOTERS, 2017-4 - Mike - 11-24-2017 Hey Kurt, Thanks for the good words, always appreciated. And when I see you at Quigley I should have another .44/77 tagging along. I'll pick it up in Big Timber at the C. Sharps Arms shop. This one should have some weight to it... I still expect to fire the match with my .44/90 but I'll have ammo for the .44/77s too. Thanks again! Shoot sharp, Mike RE: THE AMERICAN SHARPS SHOOTERS, 2017-4 - Rowdy Rick - 11-26-2017 (11-24-2017, 11:43 AM)Kurt Wrote: Mike, Rick. Kurt, Thanks for the kind words! We had a reader ask what the twist on my Pedersoli 40-65 is, and it is a 1-16 twist. The twist rate will stabilize both the 350 gr and 416 grain paper patch bullets I shoot. Have not shot them at 800 yards or farther though. Rick RE: THE AMERICAN SHARPS SHOOTERS, 2017-4 - rdnck - 12-22-2017 That 1-16 Pedersoli will stabilize a 415 grain Brooks greaser to 1000 yards. We never shot paper patch in matches in my wife's rifle, but it did just fine with greasers from 250 to 415 grains. Recently I have shot some 380 grain paper patch in it, and it will hammer my 504 yard ram with the 380 pp and 58 grains of 2f. Shoot straight, rdnck.
