Well done, Todd. - Old Jim - 07-12-2017 I wish to recognize a close friend for his efforts at the 2017 Quigley shoot. Our nearby neighbor, Todd Townsend, from Newton, Iowa, finished well up in the men's category just a few points behind Dave Gallo, the 2017 winner. I've watched Todd improve over the years, to a fine BPCR shooter that he is today. Along the way, he also has introduced several other new shooters to this fun sport. Well done, Todd! Hold center, Jim RE: Well done, Todd. - Don McDowell - 07-12-2017 Todd is a fine fellow. Would like to see him get a bit more involved in the bptr matches, I believe he could be a real challenger. RE: Well done, Todd. - Kurt - 07-12-2017 Todd, To finish 7th over all at the Q with the weather conditions that go on there you have your act together! good work. Kurt RE: Well done, Todd. - Hiwall55 - 07-12-2017 Ive shot with Todd at Milan and he is a excellent marksman,Good job , Todd. Bill RE: Well done, Todd. - craneman - 07-19-2017 Thank you all! I will attribute much of my success at the Q this year to the new paper patch load I developed for the Browning 45-70. The wind just didn't seem to bother me nearly as much as others. I can honestly say that I had only one shot, I think, that didn't go exactly where the sights were at the shot, I think a big gust took me over the buffalo on that one. My 15 year old Daniel shooting identical rifle and load was having issues on day one but after working with his form/position he shot 7's on the stop sign and rectangle to finish strong which is eciting for a dad to watch! Don I would love to compete more but the summer and fall is an awfully busy time for the cranes and with two kids in high school and a leader in the Boy Scouts life is pretty busy these days. I am going to Lodi this fall for the long range match, I love that venue. Thank you again all for the kind words Todd RE: Well done, Todd. - Old Jim - 07-19-2017 I have this saying I like to use at times such as this; "I usually don't shoot well, but when I do, there is no reason."
