Quigley top 10? - Don McDowell - 06-21-2016 Anybody have a run down of those that came after Bill and Linda in the standings at the Q? RE: Quigley top 10? - Old Jim - 06-21-2016 As of today, there's no list of any of the shooters at the Quigley. Their website indicates that later on, results will be posted. With that many shooters, and classes, it may take some time to sort it all out. RE: Quigley top 10? - bobw - 06-21-2016 Jim, I believe Wes Daims was 7th or 8th and Harvey Pennington was in there as well as Steve Pattison and Ed tilton. Seems like the guy with the top hat and wheels under him was 10 th. Thing is 5-7 of them had a 38 and were sorted out placed by offhand and buffalo counts.. It were a tight race. 42 was high score so you know the wind played hell on all as well as the heat. bobw RE: Quigley top 10? - Freedom - 06-22-2016 Wow, I had a Great time!! It was probably my most enjoyable Quigley yet! The Q has crazy weather..I have a set of shoes that are so mud caked that they'll never come clean from the rain and mud. The next day it just baked us when temps hit 95* We all resembled lobsters even with very generous and frequent slatherings of sunblock. ![]() The following day was so windy and dusty that the people would walk up the firing line and just disappear like ghosts into the wall of dust! I finished very well...even though the wind made the offhand target nearly impossible... To their amazing credit, I know Bill Clendenan (sp) (Match Champion 42) and his mom Linda (2nd place overall 41!) shot the exact same offhand wind as I did. I was shooting on the Red line and them on the Yellow. Not sure how many Bill hit, but Linda hit 5!!! The little lady Margo Hanson was right next to me and she managed to ring it too. I ended up with 3 hits and was VERY happy with that many. Over 700 shooters signed up and 697 competed in the match... A new record. I got lucky and finished with a 7th place "mens" plaque with a score of 38...This award came as a very welcomed surprise to me and what an Honor it was to shoot with so many wonderful people once again. As an added bonus the good folks at the Q celebrated the 25th anniversary by letting us have a shot at wooden buckets hanging at an unknown distance. $5 a shot seemed reasonable..but I soon realized that I was going to have to buy every number on my sight staff if I was going to be one of the few (8 folks I think) that took home a bucket. You could not see if you hit high or low because the bucket was hanging from a hook on a ridge, so you just had to start high and work your way down 2 minutes at a time. The tough part was if you didn't break center you got to buy that setting again....LOL But at 270 yards +/- I got my bucket!! So many of you came to congratulate me for last years win....Thank you all SO much!!!! It was such an honor...and you'all made it so Grand for me.. Thank you to all who came!!! And God Bless you!! RE: Quigley top 10? - Kurt - 06-22-2016 Congratulations Wes on your fine shooting. Sunday was a challenge with the offhand and the Buff That bucket did not jump when I shot. LOL.Kurt RE: Quigley top 10? - Don McDowell - 06-22-2016 How was that bucket match shot, off hand or off the sticks? RE: Quigley top 10? - Kurt - 06-22-2016 Unknown range and off hand Don. RE: Quigley top 10? - Don McDowell - 06-22-2016 Sounds like the perfect setting for someone that understands how to run a ladder sight to step up and give shootin lessons
RE: Quigley top 10? - Kurt - 06-22-2016 By the way, before Wes shot that bucket he sent that friend next to him to fetch that bucket so he shot it at 20 yards ds and told him to put it back out there LOL |
