And, now for something completely different! - Eric Johanen - 05-04-2016 Nice day yesterday so I shot something very different from my norm. Moving some boxes a few days ago I discovered the lost box of hard cast .357 semi wadcutters I've been looking for since my move several years ago. Sized and lubed ready for loading. Box of BACO 511-500 FN ready to go, loaded ammo for my Gallager and 46 rounds of ammo for my Smith carbine. (still can not find my paper ammo for the Sharps). Gave my Garrett 63 Sharps, ERMA Gallager and Pietta Smith a fresh cleaning last week. The Smith got to go to the range. Posted the 25 yard timed and rapid target at 50 yards and settled in for some off hand practice. First 2 rounds printed high in the 6 ring. Adjusted my hold and shot a 10 at 8 and 2 7's at 7. Shot up the remaining ammo and had some in the black and a bunch around it. Pretty light iron for off hand and my wobble is still pretty big, but is was great fun! Loaded about 10 years ago for the last Plainsman side event I shot in CAS competition. Have to load them up again and get the Gallager out on the range soon. Now if I can just find my supply of paper ammo for the Sharps. ( I might just have to roll up some fresh ammo for it!) RE: And, now for something completely different! - Don McDowell - 05-04-2016 It's that time of the year to burn powder again.
RE: And, now for something completely different! - Rick Mulhern - 05-08-2016 I shot this: Untitled by Rick Mulhern, on FlickrAnd we ate fried turkey, rice with dark Southern gravy, green beans, and biscuits! No king...ever had better! Son Brandon in photo with me. We all four tagged out! ![]()
RE: And, now for something completely different! - Don McDowell - 05-09-2016 Was that in Kansas? RE: And, now for something completely different! - Rick Mulhern - 05-09-2016 Yes sir! It was! Would ya like to go sometime?? RE: And, now for something completely different! - Don McDowell - 05-09-2016 Maybe sometime after I get old and retired.. ![]() Don't forget the antelope deadline is the 31st. RE: And, now for something completely different! - Rick Mulhern - 05-10-2016 Turkey killing ain't necessarily for 'old folks'! Here's my 14 year old Grandson Connor: Untitled by Rick Mulhern, on FlickrGonna have to forget about the antelope hunt this year as that's gonna collide with the early whitetail hunt coming up in Kansas this Fall! Thanks for the reminder though! RE: And, now for something completely different! - Don McDowell - 05-10-2016 Yeh, but it's just the old foggy's and the youngsters that don't have to worry about making a living that can run around doing fun things
RE: And, now for something completely different! - Ironramrod - 05-10-2016 Mulhern, Congratulations on a nice bunch of turkeys; looks like you guys have a good area to hunt. Now that I'm an ol' foggie myself (almost 74) I know exactly what Don is talking about. Almost every day is a Saturday. ![]() Regards IR RE: And, now for something completely different! - Rowdy Rick - 05-11-2016 Great job with kids and Grandkids!! RR |
