Do you full-length size your fired cases, or neck-size only, or maybe no sizing at all?
In the past, I have always FL sized all cases. But recently, I have tried no sizing at all. I hand seat the GG bullet. My groups are as good now as prior testing. Just have to be sure the OAL is where it needs to be, very close, if not touching softly in the rifle throat. Strangly though, I had to try different PRIMERS in order to get the groups small again.
The test rifle is a Shiloh Sharps, 45/70.

Jim in my shiloh and Carol's hiwall I only resize after the cases start getting a little "stiff" to chamber, then a full length size and away we go again.
Exception is for paper patch bullets then I use the Hornady resizing die for every time as it sizes the cases down just right to hold a .444 patched bullet wrapped in 9# onionskin.

Just switched from NS to FL in both my .45-70 and .45-90.
The target sez it was the right thing to do.

I don't know any better yet but I'm neck sizing and hand seating GG bullets.

I sure don't know any better either, am lazy, and so opt to never size anything unless its absolutely necessary.

I am neck sizing each reloading and annealing every second reload for my Shilo and for a Pedersolli Sharps. It seems to geve me best results but I probablt cant't shoot well enough to tell the difference. If I can get over being lazy, may anneal after each reload.

I neck size the .45-70 brass because I use it in several different rifles. Two trapdoors and a High wall. and if I want to shoot the Shiloh .45-70 the unsized case will not chamber in it.
I dont want to worry about separating the brass for each rifle.
The other rifles I just neck size where they dont get used in different chambers.

I guess I'm a glutten fer punishment.. The Winchester bpcr gets remington nickel brass, the Shiloh gets Remington brass, the others get ww and those have to be resized as I don't care to shoot bullets big enough to fill those cases after firing.
The brass from the Winchester will drop right in the Shiloh, but the shiloh brass needs just a wee bit of encouragement to chamber up in the Winchester.

That will work.
I keep the Rem brass for the Shiloh. Win for the High wall.
Shooting one of the trap doors the unsized case will just drop about half way into the Shiloh.

I use Lyman dies to FL size my 45-70 Shiloh Sharps for gg shooting. Of all the FL sizing dies I have used the Lymans size the least amount, allowing a longer case life. My first FL die was an RCBS. It really squeezed the case down considerably when set to touch the shell holder.
In my bull-barreled 45 2 7/8" Shiloh I size only the last .10" of the case mouth with a Meacham neck die, just enough to hold the patched bullet. The rest of the case stays as fireformed. I anneal after each firing to ensure a good gas seal on the chamber wall, and to be sure the tension on the bullet is always the same with each bullet/case fit.
