.22 ammo - Kurt - 01-15-2015 I see the .22 ammo is starting to show up on the local shelves finally. I just picked up some .22 Fed auto match for $17. and he said I can have two boxes for now. So I got two because my CPA shoots them so well. The marked velocity is 1200 fps, a little faster then I want but I think by the time they get pushed through the 28" barrel they should be close to subsonic. Also Norma ammo is on the shelves too here local. Kurt RE: .22 ammo - Old Jim - 01-15-2015 Kurt, I've noticed a lot of .22 ammo here lately. Mostly general run-of-the-mill stuff. I got 4500 rounds delivered to my door for $150 a while back, and have another 5000 coming for less than that. Its the green/yellow Remington 550 round per box stuff. It may be several years old, but it shoots fine, so I guess it was kept dry, somewhere. Dave and I are shootin' some .22 silhouette matches at a club where they have a heated shed to shoot from !All the best, Jim RE: .22 ammo - Kurt - 01-15-2015 Jim I have some old mid to early 80's .22 standard target Rem shells left from a case I got when I was shooting pistol bulls eye. Some is turning gray like I am but wipe it off with a rag it still shoots gophers
RE: .22 ammo - Don McDowell - 01-15-2015 Carol picked up a box of that Federal auto match at Cabela's the other day, we have not had a chance to shoot any of it yet. Has anybody shot any of the SK magazine ammo? It comes in a 500 round sealed can. I've got two cans of it, but haven't opened one yet. Hopefully the weather gets straightened up and we can get some shooting done. RE: .22 ammo - Mike - 01-17-2015 I've heard about some new CCI's on the shelf, limited to one box per customer per day at $4 per box of 50 but I haven't seen any myself. RE: .22 ammo - Old Jim - 01-17-2015 Some of us old geezers remember when .22 shorts were $0.17, longs were $0.20 and long-rifles were $0.25, back in the 1950s or so. Jim RE: .22 ammo - Kurt - 01-17-2015 Yup sure do Jim. Monkey Wards and the Gamble Store had the Hiawatha .22 ammo for that price ![]() Hey I aint old yet!!! RE: .22 ammo - Kurt - 01-17-2015 I might add, The lumberyard had less smoke Peters nickel cases for less.
