Freebore Load - Semtav - 11-02-2014 Finally had a chance to test out my PP load under ideal conditions. 800 and 900 yards showed excellent results with most of the shots grouping in a small area on the same part of the target. But moving to 1000 yards i was getting shots going hi, low, left and right. Could have been the shooter, but every time i've shot this load at 1000 I do horrible. I'm going to up my load by 5 gr swiss 1 1/2 and see if that will improve the accuracy at 1000 yds or if its just me. Rifle is a Winchester 1885 45-90 with 34in barrel. PJ .454 money bullet 12.5-1 alloy patched to groove dia. 90 grains of swiss 1 1/2 powder RE: Freebore Load - Don McDowell - 11-02-2014 I would bet that bullet is loosing stability at 900 or a little past. That extra dab of powder might be enough to keep it stable to 1000, but there's only 1 way to find out.
