Gavin, I read your post again and must make something clear. Those "Colts" are the same gun, just shown in both photos. Now, many years ago I wanted to have a matching pair of SAA's. That was probably because of all the two-gun cowboys from stage and screen. And now, let's say about two years ago, I finally got that matched pair of Colts, .44-40s with 5 1/2" barrels. But now I find there isn't a lot of thrill to it and the gun shown in those recent photos is one of the pair while the other one still sits new and unfired in its box. Shoot sharp, Mike

Gavin, What kind of whiskey? I do prefer R&R... And I shot some of the 7 1/2 grains of Unique loads today. It's a good thing my powder measure is still set for 7 1/2 grains because I do like that load. It hits well, didn't see any unburned powder, and still have enough punch for a good revolver load. Of course, Lumpy knew all of that already. So, Lumpy, thanks for the tip. I'm so pleased with that gun now, I might even clean it!! Shoot sharp, Mike

Not really trying to change the subject but here's a picture of a .45 which I've had for over 50 years. On the day I took this picture I was testing some Powder River Cartridge Co. ammo, and I almost quit after the first shot. That first shot was the almost centered X. Yes, getting an almost perfect shot at the beginning makes the target hard to improve upon. But I did try. Shoot sharp, Mike
