I have observed many comments of tube shoot offs in BPCR rifles.
Keep in mind that tube shoot offs with smokeless is almost unheard of.
Some BP shooters never have it happen.
Some BP shooters have repeated episodes.
There seems to be 2 potential causecauses.
1. Certain powders corrode the cases and tend to shoot out as a plug. The only real example of this was with a replica powder.
2. Much more frequently are heavily compressed charges of black powder. The compressed powder grips the interior of the case when fired and pulls off the front of the case.
You could easily test a few cases side by side. A few with no compression and a few with normal compression. Shoot until your point or mine is proved.
I have been shooting 45-70s since 1972 with BP equivalent loads of SR4759.
One batch of cases has been fired maybe 30 times spread across 6 or 7 rifles.
There have never been any shoot off. That just does not seem to happen with smokeless. I have also shot .375 Win, .38-55 and .40-65.
All told at various times I have shot about a dozen .45-70s without a single tube shoot off.

I think you have your vagina hat a little to tight.
How about this, I've never seen a gun blow up with BP, but have seen a few destroyed with smokeless.
Had a gent have a tube shoot off last year during a shoot at Milan and got the case out so he could finish the match.
And guess what he. Was shooting.
4759 in a roller.
