.060 ldpe primarily, I also tried milk carton but got the same result.

I too had case stretch issues using that wad material in my. 45-70 and .45-90.
No issues with .060 fiber wad.

Quick update to my stretching issue. I acquired some Remington 45-70 brass that was formed into 40-65. After processing the brass like I did with the SL, I loaded 8 rounds up with 70 grains of 1.5 Swiss, .060” ldpe, .010 paper wad and seated my ddpp wrapped with SC56. Shot the 8 rounds and measured the length and they were all 2.11”, no stretch at all! Case wall thickness is.010”.

Did you anneal the case mouth?

Yes, that is the first thing I did. I then ran them through the rcbs forming die and finished them in the full length sizing die (trimming as needed) that was backed off to allow the breech block to close so as not to over size the cases. This method worked well with the SL brass and with gg’s the case length didn’t change after firing.

That sounds good Steve. Glad you got it solved.
The less that case moves the less it will stretch. Also keep the chamber dry, especially when there is an oil in the wiping solution.

I forgot to mention that I used distilled water only on the single felt instead of the regular mix of 50/50 G12af and dw.
