Yes, the 55Y is thinner than the 55W.

Thanks for the offer Arnie. Yes, a sample of the yellow is what I need. Just enough to patch a couple bullets to test for fit. I have plenty of the white which patches up tighter than I’d like.

What would be the next size thicker than 55W? I'm want to try some about.0005” thicker to make up for the loss of diameter when wet patching.

you got it. I was just going to answer your question.
Yesterday, I patched and loaded some of my DDEPP 38-50 bullets with the
Cansun paper. I had been using the 55W, and wanted to try a slightly tighter fit
of the Major diameter/base band
in my fire formed case mouths, and the bore ride body on the lands
I hope to get out soon to try them, as well as the 40 cal bullets you sent me for my40-65.

The Canson 1557 120g/sm is .0065 thick, the 180 g/sm is .0096”.

I use 10# Paper Mill ONSK-N 37 GSM 4.9M mostly made in Germany.
It runs .0017-8", my supply does anyway. I have 3 reams.
I used the SC yellow and white and I quit using it. I want a double wrap at least as deep as the grooves.
I found using yellow the top land edges starting to build a lead smear after a long days shooting.

The Canson 1557 120g/sm is .0065 thick (165 micron) the 180 g/sm is .0096” (245 micron) according to the email I got from Canson. They did not state how many sheets were used to get the “caliper”, but I think it was 4.

UPDATE: The Canson 1557 120 g/sm that I recieved today measures .005" with my calipers, way too thick!!! Got it from Amazon, so free return.
