Is anyone having case head separation with the latest run of brass?
I'm having 2.6 cases starting to separate a 1/4" above the rim with less then 5 shots fired. The rimes are a little thin .063" on some cases and that is giving me some headspace.
Also some are pulling apart midway and the case walls are running .007 to .008" thick at that point.
I guess it's time to switch to Norma Brass.

Never had a case issue with Starline, in any caliber I have used.
Why don't you call them for their input?

Kurt, I don't know if they only sell seconds up here in Canada, but my Starline .45-2.4 is the least consistent brass I've ever seen. I bought 500 or 600 pieces a few years ago. Most of mine have rims that are .062" on one side and 0.65" on the other. Interestingly the weight seems pretty consistent. I have yet to have any separate on me though.
I also like Norma brass more, but I'd have to neck turn it in order for it to chamber in my PP rifle. That might be an interesting experiment one day.

The starline 45-90 brass I have the rims are all over the place, some thin some thick, some webs are really fat, some thin..
Jamison 45-90 appears to so far be very consistant, and it comes annealed.

Jamison does not offer 2.6 cases or I would have them.
Several years ago Starline sent me some .5-2.5 cases to test when they first started making brass for the .50 and two shots the cases separated. I sent them back with the report. I followed their instructions for test firing the brass. Two weeks later they sent 20 more cases again with instructions. I fired them 5 times each and they where fine. I sent the cases back for their tech to examine them and I never heard back from them. Never a thanks.
Calling them with this would be like a stink in the wind.

Chris the 45-90 brass are 2.4, they do offer a 2 7/8 and 3 1/4 case, but last I checked they didn't have them in stock yet.

Interestingly the .45-70 Starline I've got isn't too bad. I prefer the Remington brass for that cartridge though, it seems the most consistent. I have a pile of .50-90 Starline that seems quite good, but I've never gotten serious with that rifle so I haven't looked too hard at the consistency.

Here are a few that separated.
All of the new brass has a ring stretch mark about a 1/4" above the rim. All of the old brass I shot countless times is still good and I haven't lost any except the couple I smashed in the press.
