Knock me over with a feather!

RE: Knock me over with a feather!
This one she has is the LC9. It's sure a nice little rifle.
If your Carol is thinking 22, I'ld heartily recommend calling Pete at CSA and having him duplicate Carols rifle for her. That is one sweet little lowall and with the 13 inch pull and light barrel she handles it with ease, and boy does it ever shoot.

RE: Knock me over with a feather!
Yup Gary she is a keeper for sure.
Carolyn is now a double pistol packing Mom!!!
Well we have 200 rounds down range. Carol can keep about 80% in a 3" orangs spot on the paper at 15 yards. She has come a long way from never shooting a hand gun. At 20 some yards with the laydown plates she is getting 3 out of 6 and better using a one hand hold, infact she shoots better with one hand then using a supporting hand. I'm still working on grip control, but it's coming along pretty well.
Using the 9mm it has a very stiff recoil spring and she is struggling getting the slide back so yesterday I said it's time to go back to the toy shop to get her a gun that she can work with out struggling with the stiff slide so she first picked the Walther P22. Today I did some research on function problems with the P 22 and found that they are notorious for feeding problems so since the shop is still holding it for two more waiting days I called and told them to switch it for a Ruger SR-2 to match her SR-9.
It will be a good companion for her to learn the fundamentals using a .22.
Besides I like it Tongue

Don I have a nice Win. 22 low wall. It's light weight and it will work. It shoots very well.
When it warms up in a few months I will stick the sticks in the grass for her to play with the rifle if she wants.
One step at a time. Smile

RE: Knock me over with a feather!
My niece came in from California this past weekend and Sunday afternoon I spent two hours with her in an indoor pistol range in West Monroe, La. She was in the US Army for two years....sent to language school and she learned Russian in six months and speaks it fluently! She advised me that she hasn't ever been exposed to handguns and living in California....that's understandable! After showing her proper grip and trigger control procedure I drew her an outline of how the sights should look explaining that the vision should be upon the front sight at shot break with the target being somewhat a blurr! She shot several strings of ten rounds and I was pleasantly surprised even at the beginning as this gal listens to what she is told! She threatened to SHOOT ME if I posted a photo of her as she's got her face screwed up in the photo but take a look at her last ten shots! Only nine show...but there are ten in the target. This was at 15 yards. She's going to continue instruction at an indoor facility near Lake Elsinore where she lives!

Good to see Rick. Good shooting too. Even when I used to do a bit of rider training I 'generally' found that the female of the species didn't have a problem learning or being told something they were doing 'wasn't quite right'. Not all for sure but a lot of guys have an almost subconscious problem reigning in their ego enough to open up and learn. Your niece has every reason to be smiling... She done good ! Boy do I miss my Colt 1980 XSE... probably the best semi auto 45 I've owned.

rgds.. Gavin.

RE: Knock me over with a feather!
Gavin you have that right. I can see that in Carolyn's shooting. With less then 200 rounds fired she is putting them in a 3" dot at 15 yards one handed.

Keep after that gal Rick. And teach her not to step on all that good brass too Smile
