Casper 22 BPCR Silhouette match June 27
Casper, June 27-28, 2015

We had three matches in Casper over the weekend. The first really hot weekend of the summer I think. Also, the first 22 matches of the year for our range. Several of the local members helped clean up and get the range in shape for our 22 silhouette, 22 target rifle, and BPCR gong matches. It was just 6 weeks ago we had snow on the ground and plenty of rain since then. The weeds and grass are flourishing. Time spent chopping, raking, weed eating and more chopping let the targets stand our well enough to have a match. We didn't have any flooding on the range this time so the rails and berms were as they were supposed to be.

Everyone took advantage of the match to get ready for Raton or to just try the game out for the first time. We let everyone shoot regardless of equipment. If it does not fit in the BPCR class, we call it open class. The one rule we insist upon is that everyone shoot single shot fashion. Since our range faces ENE, we can't start until the shadows are off of the berms a bit. It was 11 AM when we began the match although everyone took advantage of some sighting in and practice on the targets that were visible. Cody and Coralee appear to be shooting in good form on their way to Raton. The light wind we had was just enough to keep you on your toes and make some small wind calls to stay on target. We have two banks of targets so we were able to shoot both relays before having to reset the animals. It made for a fairly speedy match. Since the temps were heading into the high 90's, everyone preferred to stay in the portable shade as much as possible. Fun, friendly, competitive match. Thanks to all who came out for it.

Bryan
